Nora El Samahy is Co-Owner of the Studio along with Jennifer Moulton. Her love for Pilates came in 2000 when a friend invited her over to play on a reformer. There had been no other form of movement that spoke so quickly to her intellectually and physically. She has been teaching in the Bay Area since 2002 and was certified by Ellie Herman at the Ellie Herman Studios in San Francisco, where she also completed an intensive in Pilates Rehabilitation taught by Lizz Roman. This training has led Nora to work with people suffering from repetitive stress injuries, herniated discs, neck injuries, knee injuries, general back pain, and sciatica (among others). Nora has done extensive continuing education including a 10 day Intensive at the Pilates Center in Boulder (2006), Pre-natal and Post-natal Pilates with Core Conditioning and many anatomy trainings. Other strong influences on Nora’s teaching style are the late Kathy Grant, Blossom Leilani Crawford, and Tom McCook.
Nora’s teaching has spanned from training future teachers to those who are looking to move pain free. Her primary goal in teaching is to empower her students with a sense of body awareness that can be carried into everyday life. While out of the studio Nora loves being with her husband, child and dear friends. Her other life is on stage as an actor in various theaters in the Bay Area.
